Chevy Cavalier

Interesting find on the way to work one morning.   A Chevy Cavalier.

It's a Chevy, right?

NOPE....

Toyota!

It didn't look like someone redid the branding on their own - the toyota emblem on front and tag on back looked legit...  and it was according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Cavalier

  1. That's interesting. I'm curious now. Do you see any American cars in NZ? Chevy or Ford? Or is it dominated by Honda / Toyota because of locale.

  2. Dominated by Toyota and Nissan I think. Pronounced Ni-san, not Knee-san.
Plenty of Honda and Suzuki. Ford is pretty popular. I don't see many Chevy's. Believe it or not, I see more Harley motorcycles than any other kind (could be that I am in a resort area).

  4. Sunday I saw a Jeep Wrangler.
Also have seen several older, collector cars like what you have in the garage, Dave. Compared to all the "clean" cars (emissions), those older ones, even though they look really sharp, certainly spew the pollution (you can easily smell it).
There is another brand here that I've never heard of: Holden. Some of their stuff looks pretty nice. I have no idea of their quality or brand loyalty, etc.

  5. Just looked it up. Holden appears to be a Chevy. Co-worker said Holden is Australian but was bought out by GM. You'd recognize some of the car names: Volt, Cruze, Caprice, Captiva, Colorado (truck). http://www.holden.co.nz/vehicles
